Camping Trip!

This past weekend, we went camping with Russ' parents, our nephew, and some good friends and their 2 year old boy. We went to Tonto Creek campground, just past Payson, and stayed there for 2 nights. It was fun to stay in a tent and be out of the city for a change! While we were there, we went to Diamond Point and looked for quartz diamonds, and also went to another site and looked for geodes. And we went to a fish hatchery too! And of course, we did a lot of relaxing :) Makayla and Dillon were good little campers, and had a lot of fun! But in the end, we were all ready to get back to our own beds and showers! Here are some pics from our camping trip...

Our Trip to the Wildlife Zoo & Aquarium

So this past Saturday, we went to the Wildlife World Zoo & Aquarium with the kids and my inlaws (Joe & Debbie). We all had so much fun!! We haven't been there since they've added the aquarium. Its a lot different (and better!) than the Phoenix Zoo, because all the animals are close up and more personal. The Phoenix Zoo has such big areas for the animals, that they're always so far away from you. But that's just my opinion, of course! And now they've added the aquarium, which makes it even more unique! I think Makayla had the most fun! She was running from one animal to the next, like a kid in a candy store :) We even got to feed the giraffes up at their level! They have such long tongues, and Makayla dropped the food right on it! And in the petting zoo, the deer kept chewing on everyone's clothes (they are eating her skirt in a pic here) Makayla also got to touch a starfish, but was too scared to pet the stingrays (they are really slimy!) I've added several pictures from our trip, so enjoy! (You should be able to enlarge any picture by clicking on it)

Nesting Baby Photo Shoot

So yesterday Makayla and I went to the Nesting Baby photo shoot. Makayla is one of the clothing line's little models :) I was so proud of her! She did a really, really good job, especially since it took 4 hours! By the end, we were both exhausted! So here are some of the pics from it. There were many more taken, but this is just a sample :) Soon the pics will be on the website: www.nestingbaby.com If you go on the website now, you can see Makayla in the past 2 photoshoots, the Fall '08 Collection (taken March 08), and the Spring '09 Collections (taken August 08). Enjoy!

Recent Pics of Makayla and Dillon

This is Dillon's favorite puppy. He loves the black and white pattern!

This is Makayla playing dress-up!

Makayla loves to hold her Baby Dillon, and he just hangs right in there :)

Time Goes Too Fast...

I can't believe its March already! Russ' birthday came and went, and Easter is right around the corner! I would have come on here and written sooner, but I came down with yet another cold! I seriously walk out my door and catch something... no joke. So last weekend we took the kids to the park and fed the ducks. Makayla had such a fun time - she really loves animals! She had the sweetest smile on her face the whole time, and was even talking to the ducks :) Then on Monday, I took Makayla and Dillon to the library to play with the puzzles, books, and everything else there. Makayla loves it! And they both are in reading programs now, where they can earn prizes. Such fun - we love books here!

This weekend will probably be busy. We are planning on taking the kids to the Children's Museum of Phoenix on Friday night. We took Makayla there once almost a year ago, and she had so much fun! It is such a cool place, and geared towards the little ones. And then on Saturday morning, Makayla is in a photo-shoot for a clothing company again. She did it once a year ago, and then again 6 months ago. It is so cute seeing the little girls dress up and pose for pics :) I will let you know when the new pics are up on the website. We are also going to be celebrating Russ' birthday this weekend with the family. So I'm sure the weekend will fly by!
